Congresswoman Betty McCollum (DFL-Minn.) issued the following statement today after Sec. Mike Pompeo became the first U.S. Secretary of State to visit an Israeli settlement, signaling a symbolic U.S. stamp of approval of Israel's military occupation:

Congresswoman Betty McCollum (DFL-Minn.) and Congressman Chris Smith (R-N.J.) have introduced a bipartisan, bicameral resolution recognizing a decade of results under the United States Agency for International Development's (USAID)'s signature global food security program, Feed the Future, and the need to continue efforts to accelerate inclusive agricultural development and improved nutrition outcomes for women and children around the world.

Congresswoman Betty McCollum (MN-04) and others today introduced the Israeli Annexation Non-Recognition Act, a bill to prohibit the United States from formally recognizing or providing U.S. aid to any area of the occupied West Bank annexed by the Government of Israel in violation of international law.

Congresswoman Betty McCollum (MN-04) and colleagues have introduced the Hmong and Lao Refugee Deportation Prohibition Act of 2020 to stop the Trump administration from deporting individuals to the Lao People's Democratic Republic (P.D.R.) for 72 months while individuals with Final Orders for Removal have their immigration cases reassessed. The Trump administration is currently negotiating with the Lao P.D.R. on a repatriation agreement that would deport at least 4,700 individuals to Laos.

Congresswoman Betty McCollum (MN-04) and Congresswoman Susan Brooks (IN-05), Co-Chairs of the Global Health Caucus, have introduced a resolution in support of the live-saving work of GAVI, the Vaccine Alliance. H.Res.861 highlights GAVI's twenty years of success in saving the lives of children in the world's poorest countries by improving access to new and underutilized vaccines. Since 2000, 760 million children have received immunizations, preventing the deaths of more than 13 million people.
