Service Academy Nominations
Thank you for your interest in the U.S. Service Academies. As your Fourth District Representative in the U.S. House of Representatives, each year I have the privilege of nominating a limited number of people to four of the five service academies. The honor of attending a service academy comes with an obligation and commitment to serve in the military for a minimum of five years upon graduation.
On Tuesday, April 17, 2018, Congresswoman Betty McCollum’s office will host an informational event to discuss the nomination process and application requirements for admission to a U.S. Service Academy. The event will be held at Mounds View High School (1900 Lake Valentine Road, Arden Hills, MN 55112) from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Guest speakers will include representatives from the U.S. Air Force Academy, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, U.S. Military Academy, and U.S. Naval Academy. A flyer with more information is below.
Applications for nomination to the U.S. Service Academies — Class of 2023 — may be submitted starting August 1, 2018. The deadline for submission of an application is the close of business on Monday, November 5, 2018. The application, and an informational letter, may be found below. For more information, please see the frequently asked questions for those seeking a Service Academy Nomination page.
