Congressional App Challenge

The Congressional App Challenge is a nationwide competition where students create an application or "app" for desktop/PC, web, tablet, mobile, or other devices. This challenge is designed to inspire students to explore careers in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) and highlight the value of computer science education.

Students of all coding skill levels are invited to create an app of their choosing – be it utilitarian, educational, gaming, etc. We accept apps written in any programming language, for example: C, C++, Java, Javascript, Python, Ruby, or "block code." By encouraging and recognizing our nation's young programming talent, Congress hopes to shine a light on the growing importance of these skills.

To learn more about the competition or to submit an app, visit: CongressionalAppChallenge.us.

Applications for the congressional app challenge are currently closed. Once announced, apps made after November 1st, 2023 are eligible entries to the 2024 App Challenge. See last year's finalist and winner here.
