Congressional App Challenge
The Congressional App Challenge is a nationwide competition where students create an application or "app" for desktop/PC, web, tablet, mobile, or other devices. This challenge is designed to inspire students to explore careers in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) and highlight the value of computer science education.
Students of all coding skill levels are invited to create an app of their choosing – be it utilitarian, educational, gaming, etc. We accept apps written in any programming language, for example: C, C++, Java, Javascript, Python, Ruby, or "block code." By encouraging and recognizing our nation's young programming talent, Congress hopes to shine a light on the growing importance of these skills. To learn more about the competition or to submit an app, visit: CongressionalAppChallenge.us.
Registration for the Congressional App Challenge is now closed, see here for pre-registration and more details. Please note: Apps created after October 30th, 2025 are eligible for entry to the 2026 App Challenge.
The Congressional App Challenge is open to all middle and high school students attending school in Minnesota's Fourth District. Students who plan to participate may pre-register online, and must submit their final app to CongressionalAppChallenge.us by late October, 2027.
