Congresswoman Betty McCollum (DFL-Minn.) released the following statement today following the introduction of President Trump's Fiscal Year 2021 budget proposal:
Congresswoman Betty McCollum (DFL-Minn.) and Congressman Don Young (R-AK) introduced H.R. 5790, the Advancing Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders Research, Prevention, and Services Act today in the U.S. House of Representatives. The bipartisan legislation is counterpart to S.2879, which has been introduced in the U.S. Senate.

Dear Fourth District Constituent,
Tonight the President of the United States will address the American people from the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives on the state of our nation.
I will be in attendance, along with my guest: advocate and former Minnesota First Lady Susan Shepard Carlson. Susan's work to raise awareness about Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD) has been instrumental in charting a path to success for treatment, care, and prevention of FASD.
THE STATE OF THE UNION
Congresswoman McCollum will welcome Susan Shepard Carlson as her guest for the 2020 State of the Union address on February 4, 2020.
Mrs. Carlson is a current Board Member and Chair of Legislation and Public Policy Committee at the National Organization on Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (NOFAS). She founded the Minnesota Organization on Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (MOFAS), which has led the fight against Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD) nationwide.
