Mr. Speaker, let's be clear about what this resolution is. A complete waste of time. This resolution is not about Stalin. It is not about Mao. It is not about Castro. It is not even about condemning the human rights abuses that many communist dictators throughout history have committed. Instead, the Republican majority has thrown together a poorly written, ill-conceived resolution so sloppy that it condemns socialism in all its forms.

Congresswoman Betty McCollum (DFL-Minn.) released the following statement today in response to Sec. Deb Haaland's formal Public Lands Order [#]:

"Secretary of the Interior Deb Haaland has signed a Public Land Order today officially withdrawing more than 225,000 acres from mineral leasing – a move that will protect the Boundary Waters, which sits within the Rainy River watershed, from the dangers of toxic sulfide-ore mining pollution and will preserve America's most visited wilderness area for the next generation.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Congresswoman Betty McCollum (DFL-Minn.), Chair of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Defense, announced today that Josh Straka will be her chief of staff following the retirement of Bill Harper on January 6. Straka takes on the role after serving as her district director for the past 20 years. McCollum also announced that Katie Connolly will be her district director. Connolly has served as her Minnesota scheduler and office manager since 2015.

Congresswoman Betty McCollum (MN-04) released the following statement today after the U.S. House of Representatives voted to pass the Fiscal Year 2023 conference agreement, and President Biden signed it into law. The agreement includes funding for all 15 of Rep. McCollum's requested Community Projects that will directly benefit the Fourth District.

Within the Energy and Water portion of the agreement, McCollum's CPF was included to bring in $2.2 million for energy efficiency at Como Zoo in St. Paul:
