With just two days remaining until a potential extreme Republican government shutdown, Congresswoman Betty McCollum (MN-04) warned that House Republicans are risking serious consequences for Minnesota families:

Thank you, M. Chair, I yield myself as much time as I may consume.

I rise today in opposition to H.R. 4365, the Fiscal Year 2024 Defense Appropriations Act. As the Chair of this Subcommittee last Congress, I understand the difficult process required to put this bill together.

"For the second week in a row, the Republican majority failed to bring important bills to keep the government open and funded to the House Floor for a vote. They have squandered precious time as the end of the fiscal year approaches, with no backup plan to pass these critical funding bills.

Congresswoman Betty McCollum (MN-04), U.S. Senators Amy Klobuchar and Tina Smith, and the Minnesota Congressional Delegation today announced that the Minneapolis-Saint Paul Air Station (133^rd Airlift Wing) was chosen as one of four Air National Guard locations to receive the next C-130 aircraft upgrades.
