Congresswoman McCollum Condemns Attacks on United Nations Peacekeepers in Southern Lebanon
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Following reports of recent attacks by Israel Defense Forces on United Nations peacekeepers stationed in Southern Lebanon, Congresswoman Betty McCollum (MN-04), Ranking Member of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Defense, released the following statement:
“The repeated attacks against United Nations peacekeepers by Prime Minister Netanyahu and the Israeli Defense Forces are unacceptable. As a member of the United Nations, Israel has an obligation to obey international law, respect these peacekeepers who represent 46 nations, and work to find diplomatic solutions. United Nations missions must be left alone.”
