Statements For the Record
Mr. Speaker, I rise in opposition to S.J. Res. 11, the latest Republican attack on clean air protections.
Mr. Speaker, I rise in opposition to H. Con. Res. 40.
I want to start by thanking law enforcement for all the work they do to keep our communities safe. Officers consistently put their lives on the line. Each year during National Police Week, I place a poster outside of my office honoring Minnesota’s fallen Law Enforcement officers.
Mr. Speaker, I rise in opposition to H.R. 2.
For decades, the U.S. immigration system has needed to be fixed. Every step of the way, Republicans failed to work with Democrats on effective solutions, instead blocking meaningful reform efforts for the past 20 years. The crisis we face now is in large part because of that. H.R. 2 is not the solution.
Mr. Speaker, I rise in opposition to H.J. Res. 39. This resolution is another Republican attack on President Biden’s climate goals that will harm American jobs and existing domestic solar projects. This is an unnecessary rush to insert ourselves into agency rulemaking before Congress has the full picture.
Ms. McCOLLUM: Mr. Speaker, I rise in opposition to H.Res. 311.
All people deserve safety, justice, equality, human rights, and the right to self-determination. No child anywhere should go to bed at night fearing ongoing violence.
Mr. Speaker, I rise in opposition to H.J.Res. 42.
House Republicans seem to think it is appropriate to stop the District of Columbia from enacting the kind of common sense police reforms that many of our states, including my state of Minnesota, have already enacted.
Mr. Speaker, I rise in strong opposition to H.R. 734, Republicans’ disturbing and discriminatory Politics Over Participation Act, the first standalone anti-trans legislation to ever receive a vote on the House Floor.
Mr. Speaker, I rise in opposition to H.R. 1, the Polluters Over People Act.
While it claims to lower American energy costs, it would directly result in policies that would cost taxpayers billions in environmental costs. Congress should not pass laws that benefit oil, gas, and mining companies at the expense of our public lands and public health.
Mr. Speaker, I rise in support of President Biden's veto rejecting legislation to overturn a Labor Department rule related to ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) -based investing strategies.
Mr. Speaker, I rise in opposition to H.R. 5, the Politics Over Parents Act.
