Civil Rights & Justice
Mr. Speaker, I rise in opposition to H.R. 1526, the No Rogue Rulings Act of 2025.
Mr. Speaker, I rise in opposition to H.R. 22, the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act, or the SAVE Act, which does nothing to protect voting rights.
My fellow Democrats and I in the U.S. House are defending civil rights, the rule of law, and the Constitution against illegal actions taken by unelected billionaire Elon Musk and his enabler President Trump. As a Member of Congress, I do not have standing to file lawsuits against the federal government. Only the Speaker of the House can file lawsuits on behalf of Congress.
Mr. Speaker, I rise in opposition H.R. 35.
This bill is a solution that has already been addressed in law. Right now, the House of Representatives has important work to do. The deadline to fund the government is one only month away, and the price of eggs is skyrocketing under President Trump. But instead of addressing these problems, Republicans put forward the same messaging bill we voted on last Congress.
I rise in strong opposition to H.R. 28, which would open the door to invasive surveillance and physical inspections of young women and girls as a condition of their participation in sports.
Sports should be safe, accessible, and fair for everyone. Participating in sports helps young people develop skills like leadership and teamwork and builds their self-esteem. All children, no matter their gender, should have the opportunity to develop these skills in a supportive community.
Mr. Speaker, I rise in strong opposition to H.R. 8205, the Keeping Violent Offenders Off Our Streets Act.
Mr. Speaker, I rise in opposition to this six-month Continuing Resolution and the accompanying SAVE Act.
