Washington, DC - Congresswoman Betty McCollum (MN-04) issued the following statement on President Obama's decision to appoint General David Petraeus to lead U.S. forces in Afghanistan.

"I support President Obama's decision. General Petraeus is an extremely capable military leader. I have full confidence in his ability to execute the President's strategy in Afghanistan."

WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Sens. Amy Klobuchar and Al Franken (D-Minn.), and Rep. Betty McCollum (D-Minn.) announce two grants totaling $420,000 to help reintegrate Minnesota's homeless veterans into the workforce. The grants are being awarded under the U.S. Department of Labor's Homeless Veterans Reintegration Program.

Washington, DC - Congresswoman Betty McCollum (MN-04) joined 23 other Members of Congress in support of legislation that would give subpoena power to the National Commission on the BP Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill and Offshore Drilling (H.R. 5481). The power to issue subpoenas would be part of the Commission's investigation. The ability to issue subpoenas will help the Commission get a full and accurate accounting of what caused the BP oil rig explosion and subsequent oil spill.
