Congress remains absolutely committed to supporting our veterans and passing legislation that benefits them and their families. As a member of the House Appropriations subcommittee on Military Construction and Veterans, I have a unique privilege of making sure that our military families receive federal funding they have earned. I'm proud to say we have once again provided advanced funding for the VA Department.

This project is evidence that the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act is changing America – one rooftop at a time, one community at a time.

Mr. Speaker, I rise in opposition to H.R. 2273, the Coal Residuals Reuse and Management Act. This bill represents yet another attempt by Republicans to put the interests of polluters ahead of public health and the well-being of our communities.

Mr. Speaker, I rise today in strong opposition to H.R. 358 and the on-going Republican war against women's health in America. This bill continues Congressional Republicans' extreme social agenda that jeopardizes women's health care.

Mr. Speaker, I rise in opposition to H.R. 2250, the so-called EPA Regulatory Relief Act. This legislation is a special interest giveaway to a few big industrial polluters that won't create jobs but will expose American families to unnecessary and unacceptable health risks.
