Education is the cornerstone of the foundation on which we build our future. And, Native American parents, like parents all across this nation, look to a good education as an investment in a better future for their children.

Betty McCollum, D-Minn., and several policy makers traveled with the global poverty-fighting organization CARE on a Learning Tour to South Sudan and Tanzania to better understand the challenges and solutions to food security and nutrition in each country.

In 2012, our country suffered 16 mass shootings with 151 fatalities. The brutal trend is a symptom of a larger problem: widespread gun violence. All Members of Congress have a duty to their constituents to address specific legal loopholes that allow dangerous individuals to commit violent acts with guns.
