PAUL, MN, OCTOBER 12, 2012 — With the aid of federal and state grants, and a generous partnership with the City of Saint Paul, Ramsey County has installed 35 Minnesota-made solar thermal panels on the roof of the Law Enforcement Center in St. Paul. These panels will generate 40 percent of the facility’s annual hot water needs.

Chicago (Oct. 4, 2012) – The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency today announced a $1.4 million Great Lakes Restoration Initiative (GLRI) grant to the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) to reduce mercury exposure risk for women and children who live along Lake Superior’s north shore.  Excessive blood mercury levels have been documented in infants in this area.
