Congresswoman Betty McCollum (DFL-Minn.) released the following statement in observance of Veterans Day:

On Veterans Day, we take time to honor the brave and selfless service of the women and men of the United States Armed Forces. We dedicate this day to the sacrifices made at home by their families and loved ones who do so much to support our heroes. This Veterans Day also marks a major milestone – the one hundredth anniversary of the Armistice on November 11, 1911.

"This Memorial Day, we remember and reflect upon those who have lost their lives protecting our nation and defending freedom at home and abroad. Since the Civil War, Americans have set aside the last Monday in May as a sacred day to commemorate our fallen heroes and reflect on their sacrifices."
