One year ago, Hamas terrorists killed 1200 innocent Israelis, injured thousands, and took 251 hostages in the deadliest attack on the Jewish people since the Holocaust. Today we remember those who lost their lives, and demand that Hamas release the remaining hostages.

Hamas' October 7th terrorist attack unleashed a wider regional conflict that has inflicted widespread human suffering and triggered a humanitarian crisis where innocent children have paid the highest price.

Studies have shown that 80% of investors want to invest in companies that consider climate risks, diverse hiring practices, and employee welfare. Investors know that these factors—referred to collectively as environmental, social, and governance (ESG)—impact the value of their investment and ownership of a given company. Yet, House Republicans have brought forward H.R.

Mr. Speaker, I rise in opposition to a slate of Republican bills offered this week that will do more harm than good in defending the United States’ interests from the Chinese Communist Party.

Following news reports of the death of six hostages in Gaza, Congresswoman Betty McCollum (MN-04) issued the following statement:

"Hamas’ murder of Israeli-American citizen Hersh Goldberg-Polin and five other Israeli hostages is devastating. My heart goes out to their families. I stand with families demanding that the Netanyahu government reach a hostage release and ceasefire agreement immediately. The remaining hostages must come home alive, and the unbearable conflict in Gaza must end."

Mr. Speaker, I rise to voice my opposition to the speech given in this chamber by Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu. The speech given by the Prime Minister was outrageous. He disrespected his role as a foreign leader speaking before a joint session of Congress. He used the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives to make blatantly political attacks on American citizens who disagree with his policies. He also made a full endorsement of former President Trump.

July 23, 2024

Congresswoman Betty McCollum (MN04) released the following statement on Prime Minister Netanyahu's Speech to Congress tomorrow.

Mr. Speaker, I rise in strong opposition to the State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs appropriations bill.

This legislation houses some of the most important diplomacy, development, and defense initiatives for the United States and the world at-large. The programs that are funded through this bill serve some of the neediest populations in the world, helping millions of people gain access to clean water, safe shelter, nutritious food, and democracy development.
