On the eve on Rosh Hashanah, the start of the Jewish New Year and start to the High Holy Days, Congresswoman McCollum wished the Jewish community worldwide a happy holiday:

"Tonight begins Rosh Hashanah, a two day celebration marking the start of the Jewish New Year and beginning of High Holy Days.   This holiday traditionally honors the end of creation and commences the Jewish High Holy Days. It is a a time of great reflection, repentance, and renewal for millions of Jews worldwide.  I wish my Jewish constituents, and the Jewish community worldwide, a happy, safe, and illuminating holiday.  Shana tovah u'metukah!"
