Washington, DC – Congresswoman Betty McCollum (MN-04) issued the following statement in support of President Obama's call to extend the payroll tax cut for one additional year.

"Extending the payroll tax cut for one more year is essential to millions of working families who are still struggling in this fragile economy. I applaud President Obama for his perseverance in fighting to prevent an unnecessary and ill timed tax increase on 160 million Americans. It is time for Congressional Republicans to end their opposition to extending this important tax relief for the middle class."
