Congresswoman McCollum’s Statement on the Passing of Joan Mondale

Washington, DC – Joan Mondale, the wife of former Vice President Walter Mondale, passed away this evening at the age of 83. Congresswoman Betty McCollum (D-MN) released the following statement:

“Joan Mondale was an incredible woman and Minnesota was blessed to have her leadership. Her advocacy for the arts was remarkable and she was one of our country’s most impassioned champions of culture. My thoughts and prayers are with her family, friends, and all those she inspired as she inspired me.”

Congresswoman Betty McCollum serves on the House Appropriations Committee. She is Democratic Co-Chair of the Congressional Native American Caucus.
