Washington, DC - Today, Congresswoman Betty McCollum (MN-04) issued the following statement, regarding her "yea" vote to censure Rep. Charlie Rangel (NY-15). Last month, the House Committee on Standards of Official Conduct found Mr. Rangel guilty on 11 counts of ethics violations.

"This a sad day for the U.S. House of Representatives because of a good man with a long history of heroic public service was punished by his peers for reckless conduct that reflected poorly on our institution. Every Member of Congress has an obligation to uphold the integrity of this legislative body, and today's vote demonstrated a collective commitment to maintain the integrity of the U.S. House."
