Congresswoman Betty McCollum to Host Listening Session on Minnesota Impacts of Law Defunding Public Media and International Aid

SAINT PAUL, Minn. — Congresswoman Betty McCollum will host a listening session on Thursday, August 7 at 11:00 AM CT to hear from Minnesota nonprofit leaders and public media providers about how they are being impacted by cuts to federal funding.

During a late-night vote on July 17, the House of Representatives passed H.R. 4, a recissions package sought by President Trump on a vote of 216-213. The law rescinds more than $9 billion in federal funding that had been passed on a bipartisan basis just months earlier. H.R. 4 defunds public broadcasting and claws back funding for international development.
