McCollum Stresses Urgency of Delivering Humanitarian Aid to Gaza

Congresswoman Betty McCollum (DFL-Minn.), Ranking Member of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Defense, released the following statement today following news reports that aid trucks are waiting to cross into Gaza:

“Humanitarian aid trucks at the Rafah border crossing with Egypt must be allowed to cross immediately to deliver urgently needed food, water, and medicine to people who need it in Gaza,” McCollum said. “I call for all involved parties to deliver this desperately needed humanitarian assistance in a timely manner, and for Israel to agree to inspections of this assistance by the United Nations or other international organizations. Two million Palestinian civilians need this humanitarian assistance now and time is of the essence.”
