McCollum Statement on Terrorist Attacks in Israel

Congresswoman Betty McCollum (MN-04) released the following statement today after Gaza militants fired rockets and attacked nearby areas in a surprise assault on Israel:

“The U.S. government and the international community must immediately unite in denouncing the escalating violence in Israel and Gaza, and demand the immediate release of all hostages.” McCollum said. “These appear to be serious acts of war, and war is never the answer. I call upon the U.S. State Department to brief Congress about the situation immediately when the House of Representatives returns to Washington next week. While we await more information, my heart goes out to all those families impacted by this violence.”
