McCollum Statement on Results of Investigation into Minnesota National Guard UH-60L Helicopter Crash

Congresswoman Betty McCollum (DFL-Minn.) released the following statement today after the Minnesota National Guard released a summary of the results from the military investigation board into the December 5, 2019 crash of a UH-60L helicopter that killed three members of the Minnesota National Guard:

"On December 5, 2019, our state tragically lost three members of the Minnesota National Guard in a UH-60L helicopter crash that occurred during a maintenance test flight. Today, the Minnesota National Guard has released a summary of the findings from the military investigation board charged with examining the incident. Once again, to the families and friends who lost loved ones: you are in my thoughts as you continue to grieve.

"The Minnesota National Guard must now move forward in making the necessary changes in protocol as a result of this incident. As they do so, I continue to have the utmost confidence in the leadership of the Minnesota National Guard to take the proper steps to ensure that this type of terrible tragedy does not happen again."
