McCollum Statement in Honor of Veterans Day

November 10, 2022

Congresswoman Betty McCollum (MN-04) released the following statement today ahead of tomorrow's observance of Veterans Day:

"On Veterans Day, we take time to recognize those who have served our nation in the U.S. Armed Forces. We honor their commitment, bravery, and sacrifices to protect the ideals and freedoms we cherish as Americans. We thank all who served in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Space Force, Coast Guard, and Merchant Marines. They deserve the support of a grateful nation, and that gratefulness must be reflected in our actions – that's why I'm working to expand the availability of high quality, affordable health care, educational and workforce training opportunities that lead to good-paying jobs, and affordable housing for veterans and their families. I'm proud of the investments we've made in Congress to meet these obligations, and recognize there is much more to be done to fill veterans' needs.

"We also honor the sacrifices made at home by the families and loved ones of our service members. As our veterans return home and take on new challenges following military service, know that my office stands ready to help. This Veterans Day, join me in honoring and remembering veterans' service in defending the United States at home and abroad."

A livestream of tomorrow's 2022 State of Minnesota Veterans Day Program is planned. Additional Veterans Day events will take place in Stillwater and North St. Paul.
