McCollum Announces 2020 Art Competition Winners
Congresswoman Betty McCollum (DFL-Minn.) today announced the winners of her 2020 Congressional Art Competition. Grace Erickson of Concordia Academy took first place for her artwork, “Look Up My Child.” Samuel Groven, of Highland Park Senior High School, finished in second place with “A Trail of Two Cities,” while Siddharth Pandya of Woodbury High School finished third with “COVID Chaos.” The entries can be viewed in an online gallery here.
“The Fourth District is home to a thriving arts and humanities community, full of artists that pull from a place of resilience and strength to navigate the world around us,” Congresswoman McCollum said. “Through the Congressional Art Competition, I’m proud to help amplify the work of these budding artists and allow the public to get a glimpse of their inspiring talent. My office was moved by the variety and poignance of the submissions, and I congratulate and thank each of the entrants for participating in this year’s competition.”
This year’s art competition was held in a digital format due to the public health crisis, and was open to Fourth District high school students.
