McCollum and House Appropriations Committee Democrats Approve $86 Million for Priority Minnesota Projects

July 19, 2021

Democrats Advance All 12 FY 22 Appropriations Bills Without GOP Support

Congresswoman Betty McCollum (DFL-Minn.), Chair of the Defense Appropriations Subcommittee and Vice Chair of the Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies Subcommittee, along with her Democratic colleagues on the House Appropriations Committee, have voted to advance dozens of priority community projects for Minnesota – totaling $86 million in federal funding. The community projects were requested by individual Democratic and Republican members of the Minnesota Congressional delegation.

"The Appropriations Committee is moving these critical bills forward to fund the federal government and at the same time, delivering for Minnesotans by investing in the priority needs of communities in districts represented by both Democrats and Republicans," McCollum said.

As the Dean of the Minnesota delegation and Minnesota's only member of the House Appropriations Committee, McCollum voted to approve all 12 fiscal year 2022 appropriations bills. Congressionally-directed projects were included in the appropriations bills for the first time since 2010.

All 10 requests from Rep. McCollum's office were included in the FY 2022 appropriations bills that have now been approved by the full Appropriations Committee, totaling $12 million to benefit Minnesota's Fourth District. More information here:
