Defending Reproductive Freedom

For decades, I have fought to protect access to legal, safe, and comprehensive reproductive health care. We must defend reproductive rights on the federal level, because everyone deserves access to care where they live.

Since the Trump-majority Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade with its Dobbs decision in 2022, abortion bans are increasing across the United States. While Minnesota has the nation’s strongest protections for reproductive rights and health care, those rights could be at risk. House Republicans have made their intentions to further restrict reproductive care decisions abundantly clear, using their majority to advance bills that put in jeopardy a women’s ability to travel to seek abortion services, receive legal prescription drugs in the mail, and access contraception. In fact, extreme conservatives in the House produced a budget proposal calling for a national abortion ban in every state.

Democrats are fighting back against these attempts to control women’s health care decisions and our bodies with legislation that would establish federal protections of reproductive freedom.
