Project: Stillwater Well #9 Water Treatment Plant

This funding would be used for the construction of a new water treatment facility to provide safe drinking water to residents following the discovery of several per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) at amounts exceeding maximum contaminant levels established by the U.S. EPA. This project supports the health and safety of residents by supplying them with safe drinking water.

This project would complete the reconstruction of a 1/2-mile stretch of Weir Drive, a dead-end roadway serving an apartment complex, middle school, and several businesses. When it floods, it cuts off access for residents in and out of Weir Drive. This project will elevate two low points along Weir Drive that currently convey stormwater to maintain access for residents, students, businesses, and first responders.

Project would reconstruct Randolph Avenue Bridge No. 7272 and the approach roadway between CSAH 37 and James Avenue, including construction of a replacement bridge that includes multi-modal elements for bicycles, pedestrians, and vehicles, including freight truck traffic. These improvements will prevent significant disruption to the livelihood of businesses and residents who would be severely affected if the bridge needed to be abruptly taken out of service to address further deterioration.

This will help increase transit access in the Twin Cities, creating a convenient connection for residents traveling to and from downtown St. Paul.
