Congresswoman Betty McCollum: I Will Vote No on the Republican Budget Scheme
February 25, 2025
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Congresswoman Betty McCollum (MN-04), the Dean of the Minnesota Congressional delegation, released the following statement on Tuesday ahead of a planned vote by the U.S. House of Representatives on the Republican majority’s budget proposal:
“The House GOP budget proposal would cut Medicaid by $880 billion, cut SNAP by $230 billion, and add $4 trillion to the deficit — all so Republicans can provide a massive tax break to their billionaire donors like Elon Musk. I will stand with Minnesota and vote no on the House Republican budget proposal if it comes before the full House for a vote this evening.”
