August 27, 2009 - McCollum Hosts Health Care Reform Community Discussion Monday PDF Print

MEDIA ADVISORY

Washington, DC – Congresswoman Betty McCollum (MN-04) will hold a health care reform community discussion at Macalester College on Monday, August 31, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. to discuss the immediate need to repair America’s broken health care system and the America's Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009 (H.R. 3200), legislation introduced by the U.S. House to reduce cost, increase access and ensure quality care for all Americans.

Some 60 million Americans are uninsured or under-insured and are too often left to access care in the emergency room -- where it is too expensive and too late.  Millions more are just one pink-slip away from completely losing health insurance.  It is time to build a health care system focused on outcomes for patients rather than profits for the health care industry.

Event: Health Care Reform Community Discussion

Date: Monday, August 31, 2009

Time: 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. CDT

Location: Weyerhaeuser Chapel, Macalester College, 1600 Grand Avenue, St. Paul, MN

Congresswoman Betty McCollum (MN-4) serves on the House Appropriations & Budget Committees.
